Once, you travel a lot - like flying every week from one end of the country to the other - you become quite familiar with all the checkin / security procedures. Here are some more or less interesting experiences and short stories.
1.Passport.
Since I lost my ID some weeks ago, I used my drivers license. This seems to work well and there were no problems at all. However, one of the fine “checkin ladies” in Baden-Baden almost refused my ID and said that this is usually a problem and not o.k. I should be able to show my ID next time. (I still don t have it.)
2.Security I
One time, I tried to “smuggle” my new hair wax box (200ml). Not a good idea I had to throw it away after an intense discussion with the security lady.
Later, my fellow-worker showed me his switzerland knife, which was o.k. to take on board.
3.Security II
If you wonder why the weapon alert goes on even if the security does not find anything close to metal on you: They can trigger it manually in order to do some random examination and stay wakefully. Otherwise they would get bored.
4.To late at the check-in
If you are just a couple minutes to late at the check-in counter, there is a pretty good chance that they still let you through, even with all your luggage. However, since the check-in lady can’t see if the plain is behind the schedule, you have to be super nice to them, so they might call the gate and ask.
