This week, SAP invited ca. 100 students to Walldorf in order to show them how great this company is. Since these students were supposed to be the “best of the best” it was called:
University Excellence meets SAP.
In fact, SAP asked some professors to send them their best students which means that most of these students were not just the best but also quite communicative and knew their professor in person. Thus, I met there guys like you and me who are very nice, friendly, and good looking. ;-) Therefore, I could talk to many of them and we had a lot of fun.
On Thursday, we arrived in Walldorf. Right after our check-in in a motel we went to the Village center. There are some nice pubs and restaurants. The whole Wednesday, we spend at the SAP Headquarter listening to presentations and group discussions. They also explained the art installation of the building, which is quite impressive. In the evening, there was a BBQ outside, while we could talk to some SAP top managers, sellers, consultants, etc. The final highlight was a cover band that played songs of ACDC and Red Hot Chilly Peppers.
By the way, SAP payed for almost everything, even for two nights in a hotel. Bottom-line: Be always nice to your professor and do networking!
