Yesterday, I received the ICONIX book that I had to order on Amazon.com. Seriously, it was not possible to get this book (published in February 2007) in Germany. However, it turns out that ordering books on Amazon.com is not that bad after all. New books are mostly cheaper (even with shipment fees) in the US than in Germany, if you can wait 2 to 3 weeks. Since I was on a break, I saved the money for the express delivery and waited 3 weeks.
When I picked up the package I was really surprised of the stamp that said “New Zealand”. You must know, if you try to buy a specific book in NZ that is not in their small stores you have to wait for the next book shipment from Australia, which takes usually 2 to 3 weeks. Really, the book assortment in NZ is limited but they had the ONE that I need and can not get in Germany. What is that supposed to tell me?
